Kiel Marine Science

Members of KMS

41 research groups at 18 institutes and seven faculties - the scientists of the Kiel Marine Science (KMS) university priority research area contribute to the understanding of processes in the ocean and on the coasts within the framework of their interfaculty research. Together, natural scientists and humanities scholars are developing strategies for the sustainable use and conservation of the ocean system.

Currently, some 150 excellent scientists, staff and experts in the working groups of KMS are contributing to marine science research. In addition, a large number of KMS members form an interface to the priority research areas KLS (Kiel Life Science), SECC (Societal, Environmental and Cultural Change) or KiNSIS (Kiel Nano, Surface and Interface Science) with their research topics.

On this webpage, all KMS members (full, associate and partner members) present their research questions and give an overview of their current projects and information on their personal careers.
