Kiel Marine Science

KMS Colloquium Marine Resources and Hazard Risk Assessment

29.10.2018 von 08:45 bis 13:00

Ludewig-Meyn-Str 2, Raum Ü3

The Kiel Marine Science ‐ Center for Interdisciplinary Marine Science at Kiel University is about to establish the Kiel Ocean Assessment and Solution Centre (KOAS) as a cross‐faculty research unit for research on ocean‐related decision‐making and governance. The centre will also serve as a platform for scientists and stakeholders to assess and synthesize scientific results and to develop practical solutions for the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources.

In our KMS colloquium Marine Resources and Hazard Risk Assessment we would like to invite our guests, scientists with a research profile in the field of abiotic marine resources and/or natural hazards, to explore the exciting new opportunities provided by the new centre. We would also like to identify possibilities of interdisciplinary research at the interface of natural and social sciences as well as humanities. Furthermore, we aim to explore the prospects of engagement in transdisciplinary cooperation with stakeholders from non‐academic sectors.
