May 16, 2018 from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM

Klaus-Murmann-Hörsaal, Leibnizstraße 1, Universität Kiel

• Dr. Henrike Seibel (Gesellschaft für marine Aquakultur, Büsum)
• Dr. Bernice Bovenkerk (Universität Wageningen, Niederlande) *
• Mark Schumann (Fischereiforschungsstelle, Langenargen)
Moderation: Prof. Dr. Konrad Ott (Philosophisches Seminar, Universität Kiel)

As with livestock on land, the topic of "animal welfare" and "animal-friendly husbandry" is gaining in importance in aquaculture as well. However, compared to farm animals, there are few methods of determining the well-being of fish and the demands of the different species on their environment are very complex. The current findings from the research area "Animal Welfare in Aquaculture" will be presented and the feasibility and implementation in the practice of aquaculture will be discussed.

The talks will be in German.
