The book "A Critical Approach to Climate Change Adaptation" recently published by Routledge is a critical review of current research, policy discussions and practices in the course of adaptation strategies. The authors of the volume - edited by Silja Klepp (Kiel University) and Libertad Chavez-Rodriguez (CIESAS Mexico) - examine selected countries such as Colombia, Mexico, Canada, Germany, Russia, Tanzania, Indonesia and the Pacific island states and describe how adaptation measures are implemented. The focus is on how these strategies influence the political and economic structures of countries, the legal challenges they pose and the importance of measures for cultural identity. The book (in English) is aimed at students and researchers from the fields of climate research, environmental law, politics and sociology as well as politicians and practitioners. Following the book presentation, the editors will invite leading experts to a panel discussion.
