Conference on Coastal and Marine Topics (AMK)

Mar 30, 2017

The working group Seas & Coasts (AMK) of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Geographie (DGfG) holds its 35th annual conference on April 20 and 21 2017 at Wissenschaftszentrum Kiel. It is an interdisciplinary symposium which offers a broad range of marine and coastal topics via oral presentations and posters. The conference covers a wide thematic spectrum ranging from coastal morphodynamics, coastal and marine ecosystem quality & ecosystem services, monitoring techniques to climate change adaptation and risk management. While the geographical focus is mainly on North Sea and Baltic Sea regions there will also be studies presented from foreign regions such as the Mediterranean, the Caribean, Argentina and Australia. On April 22, a field trip northeast of Kiel will show the present-day coastal changes, protection and management issues.
