Malte Braack studied Mathematics at Hamburg University. In 1998 he earned his doctorate in Mathematics at the University of Heidelberg. He carried out a Post-doc phase at INRIA in Sophia- Antipolis and finished the habilitation in 2005 at the University of Heidelberg. Since 2006 he is Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Mathematical Seminar at Kiel University. He is member of the Cluster of Excellence ‘Future Ocean’. He is also member of the DF G Priority Programms 1253 (‘Optimization with Partial Differential Equations’) and 1276 (‘MetStröm’).
