Sebastian Krastel studied Geophysics at Kiel University. In 1999 he earned his doctorate in Marine Geosciences. In 2008 after eight years of research at Bremen University, Sebastian Krastel was offered a professorship in Submarine Natural Hazards in the Cluster of Excellence ‘Future Ocean’. Since 2012 he is Professor of Marine Geophysiks and Hydroacoustics in the Institute for Geosciences at Kiel University.
