Research questions

She has a wide array of research interests revolving around the issue of ensuring sustainable well-being. Her particular interests lie in the field of quantitative analysis using spatial explicit information and the valuation of non-market benefits and costs. Central research questions include:

  • How to assess changes in the provisioning of environmental goods and services? What is, e.g., the economic impact of ocean acidification? Would people value improvements in cultural ecosystem services of the Baltic Sea?
  • What determines people’s willingness to accept new climate change mitigation options? How does knowledge about these options impact mitigation behavior?
  • There are different ways to reduce marine litter. Which alternatives do lay people prefer and why?
